Monday 31st March 2014 - PERFECT 10 out there today folks , we had the storm come up from the south yesterday and cleared over night and the off shore winds kicked in around 9.00pm so we have had more than 9hrs for it to clean up. What we are left with is mid range S/SE swell in the 4-6ft range with the odd set a little bit bigger fanned by light off shore winds at almost all breaks and it will just keep getting cleaner all day long. For many it has come one day late but for the lucky few amongst us that have Monday as a holiday Game On, best breaks are Kanagwa and Kamogawa with swell pouring in early on. The sun is out as well which means its a perfect day for shooting pictures as well i know most of our photographers will be busy all day long. Expect some pretty cool pictures later on in the day. Looks like we are in for one more storm as we head into this weekend and maybe even some final late spring snow for those in the mountains.Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Friday 28th March 2014 - Well folks the sun is back with us today after a grey and drizzly day yesterday there were however some really great waves on offer and one SIJ team member scored Kanagawa in the morning & another scored Malibu Chiba in the afternoon. Today and tomorrow are both going to be perfect blue sky and warm before the cloud rolls in on Sunday and brings some more rain. Surf will be clean again today and early morning tomorrow before the strong Spring south winds kick in and starts to make a mess of things so if your heading out head out early is the call. At time of writing most breaks in Chiba looking good but North maybe has a little bit more size in it than anywhere else. Should be a fun day on the water for sure. Thursday 27th March 2014 - Well folks we had a little bit of rain last night which i have to say has been a long time coming , very much we have had a long dry spell for a while , again another sure sign that spring is on its way. Wave wise today things are looking really really good we have some Kanagawa Magic Happening right now with waves down on the reefs in the 3-4ft range this should last most of the day with little to no wind as well meaning complete glass , Wicked! Then as we move into Chiba things are a little bit smaller with the average size on the coast 2-3ft swell direction is SSW at about 192 Degrees so really its the South facing breaks that will be getting it the most, the tides will help in scoring quality waves but we have to say there are some great Sand Bars out there right now especially on these super low spring tides we are having. Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Wednesday 26th March 2014 - Morning to one and all , firstly sorry for the lack of updates the past few days , we have had a dose of the flu run through the office that has knocked some of the staff members off there feet, were are back to running speed now though so reports should resume as per normal. Straight into it then, today we are looking as though things are rather small back into the 1-2ft range surf again, actually this looks to be the pattern for the next few days as well. So best bet is if you are looking for surf get out to one of the shallow breaks along the coast such as Kujukuri or even further North like Ioka and wait for the tide to drop out to get a better chance of scoring the odd ride or two. Winds are light and variable. In other news the warm weather is back and the cherry blossom trees are looking like they will explode this weekend so dust off your coolers and put the beer on ice its almost time to celebrate the coming of Spring. Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Thursday 20th March 2014 - Good morning folks well today is back to the stormy stuff here in Japan we have the front end of a southerly storm ripping up the coast and it is bringing wind and rain with it . So on the wave front today things are looking pretty small and grizzly . However the good news it's a 3 day weekend starting tomorrow and the conditions should start to clean up and leave us with perfect clean conditions for the whole weekend. As well as stunning weather clear blue sky's and highs into the mid teens . A perfect spring holiday. Wave wise size should be anywhere from 2-4ft with great tides so surfing should be all day Friday and all day Saturday with things getting smaller by Sunday , we should all have rubber band arms by then so we can just hang out and relax with loved ones. Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Wednesday 19th March 2014 - Stunner of a morning out there today folks it really really is a top one for the folks down there in Kanagawa as we have a little bit of the Magic happening, strong winds of yesterday have left us with some perfect clean 2-4 ft 9 second period swell with most of the beach breaks of Kugunema working really well, the river mouth at Bunyu is also working nice too. On top of all this the sun will be out and the temps will be even higher than yesterday , up around 22 in Tokyo. Make sure you wrap up warm though folks as the water is cold as again when we have the south wind we have the cold water upwellings as well. The storm coming up from the south is still on the cards for this weekend so plenty to look forward to folks. Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Tuesday 18th March 2014 - Good morning folks on what is going to be called the first week of spring here in Tokyo as we are looking for the temps to get up into the low 20's for the first time this year. Wave wise today we have some strong south winds again which is making it hard to find some quality clean surf again but as long as you know where to look then there is some fun stuff on offer. Izu this time of year is stunning before the main crowds hit the place and winter season is often when we get those large NE storms roll in. A big hello goes out to one of our SIJ crew members that are currently on the road for 10 days grabbing waves everywhere and anywhere they can. Long range forecast is showing a big storm coming up from the south that should arrive just in time for this long weekend. So keep those surf boards waxed up and ready folks. See ya in the water. News: We hung out with the Japan crew at Liquid Eye yesterday - A great day was had by all and what an amazing bit of kit.

Monday 17th March 2014 - Happy St, Patrick's Day to all the Irish people living in Japan, there was a stunning festival in Yoyogi park yesterday where 10 of thousands of people turned up. Im sure there will be a few surfers dressed in green today as well celebrating the day. Well back to the surf and it was a real mixed bag over the weekend , Saturday was an outstanding day with stunning waves at almost all breaks we posted some pictures on Face Book ,then on Sunday morning the wind came about and started blowing hard from the South. 2 things happen when this kicks in it brings warm air from Okinawa etc up our way meaning air temps start to rise and its the first hint of Spring but it also kicks in the cold water upwellings this was very apparent yesterday as Kamogawa water temps hit 11 degrees. Freezing Brrr. Today wind has gone its sunny and warm and we have some nice waves rolling in at most breaks.Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

News: We hung out with the Japan crew at Liquid Eye yesterday - A great day was had by all and what an amazing bit of kit.

Friday 14th March 2014 - Well the storm that bought all the rain yesterday is finally starting to move away but the swell it is leaving behind is still huge in many places at time of writing this morning it was easily triple+ and we would not advise entering the water unless you are a very experienced surfer. The good news though is that the conditions will start to clean up very quickly through the day aqs the storm moves further out into the Pacific , by mid afternoon it should pretty much perfect everywhere and if your lucky enough to be able to take the afternoon off i would advise it. If your not dont worry there should still be some excellent surf around Saturday morning but then getting smaller into Sunday of course it is also St Patricks's day and anyone that is in and around Tokyo should head to the parade on Omatosando and the large event they are having in Yoyogi Park. Murphy's Irish Stouts all round i think.Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Tues

day 12th March 2014 - Good morning to one and all again another calm day out there with some really nice clean small swell ro

lling into the coast line but again like yesterday the center of the country is having to deal with very fat tides where as up north where the breaks have nice shallow beaches to roll into the waves are looking a lot better. The break of Ioka is by far the best pick today for sure although wrap up warm because the water up there is still super cold. There is a feel of spring in the air today as well and the air temps are due to go up a lot but it could also bring some rain with it later. In other news congratulations to Gaberiel Madena for winning the first ASP competition of the year out there in Australia at Snapper rocks. The tour now moves on to Margret River down in Perth Western Australia which is an amazing wave. Have a great day and make sure you check out our Face Book page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Monday 11th March 2014 - Morning to one and all and its a cold and crisp one to get us under way here. Straight into it though first hings first and wave wise its still very small in most places very clean and mellow at the same time . The high tides early on are the thing that is going to make it hard to find a wave but as we move through the day things should get better. Winds will remain light and variable and the sun will stay shining which will make for a pleasant day down at the beach. The mountains have been getting some serious snow of late as well which means this late in the season things are still looking seriously good up there. Lots of POW Pow to be had this week for sure as crowd numbers will be seriously low. Big storms on the horizon later this week and it could be good this weekend , fingers crossed there folks. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Monday 10th March 2014 - Well folks we are back in the office this morning after what can only be described as an eventful weekend. Some great waves on Sunday to be had all over Chiba and then Sunday backing right off again into the 1-2ft range. Lots of people out and about though on all manor of water craft from short boards to long boards to SUP's and Canoe's really good to see folks having a blast around the water. As we look into this week the long range radar is showing some big storms developing which should send some pretty large winter swells our way towards the end of this week. As for today things are small and very clam indeed a good day for a bike ride or a long walk with the dog. Unless your like us who have a 10 hr office day ahead catching up on paper work. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Thursday 7th March 2014 - Good morning folks after what can only be described as a EPIC day yesterday of Surf here in Japan any one that was following will know what im talking about some of the best surf we have seen this year for sure. Moving into today though we have seen a big decrease in size but don't panic we still have some very nice 2-4ft surf left and it should pick up well on the lower tides throughout the day. Winds are going to be light off shore yet again and the sun will be out. The wind is going to be cold though so you will have to wrap up warm to maintain your body heat for that long session. Weekend is looking really good as well with similar conditions as today but expect it to be busy as every knows its going to be good. Hope to see you out there.Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Wednesday 6th March 2014 - WOW WOW WOW 5star day out here in Japan folks we have Epic conditions right from Kanagawa up into deep Ibaraki , long period swell pumping into the coastline well into the 6-8ft range we have it all , Kanagawa clean of course and perfect A-frames with long walls and long rides breaking over perfect reef and then many parts of Chiba the perfect Sand Bars creating fast hollow breaking waves and then into Ibaraki solid thick style waves with peaks everywhere with not a sole on them for miles around. The sun is out and the winds are light as far as this year goes the next 4 days are the best we have seen so i hope you are out there getting some. Amazing . Tuesday 4th March 2014 - Good morning to one and all , wow what a day we have for you today , the day after the storm i like to call it, we have had a fantastic sunrise this morning a real stunner and have some super clean 2-4ft E/NE swell rolling into the Chiba coast line with a light perfect off shore wind, at time of writing Hebera on the higher tide had some 100m plus rides going down from out the back and the more open beach breaks of Kujikuri had massive

A-frame bombs breaking everywhere. Kamogaw clean and as the tide drops out you know Maruki etc will start to pump. The sun will be shining so you know the pro's are going to be out in force as will the photographers. Our advice get out there and enjoy it if you can , if not dont worry looks like swell right the way into the weekend. Yeaha. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . Monday 3rd March 2014 - So Monday morning started off with a pretty big shake for our friends down there in Okinawa a 6.7 magnitude quake hit some 70 miles off the coast it was to deep to cause a Tsunami which is a very good thing but a wake up call for many. Back up on the mainland we have the swell we spoke about earlier , its in the 4-5ft range and its NE but really only getting down to mid Chiba but that will change as the days goes on and by mid afternoon the whole of Chiba should be getting it. At time of writing Hebera looked really big and a bit messy Kamogawa would be the call this morning it may be a bit mellow to start but there would be some fun waves coming through for sure. Weather is still grey and wet but that will clear up this afternoon as well. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page .
