Saturday 30th November 2013- Morning folks , nice little Saturday report today due to some large events going on in Tokyo that we have to attend today. Also been kicking back watching Epic Sunset in Hawaii 8-12ft waves rolling in and the Pros going nuts!! Back to Japan though and we have a cloudless sky again with perfect off shore winds and some nice small waves coming in at many of the breaks still only in the 1-2ft range but fun for sure. It's a perfect weekend for SUPing as the water is clear and the waves easy so a perfect time to give it a go if you never have. Sunday looking pretty similar as well so again if you can go out there and get some. Enjoy The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Friday 29th November 2013- Wow this week really has been a back and forth one this morning is back to blue sky and calm winds just like Tuesday was. The big winds of yesterday has left us with some small wind driven swell yet again which is great Kanagawa looking fun in places as are certain parts of Chiba, Ibaraki still very very small though. It sure is getting cold out there now though and as we move into the last few days of November the snow is starting to pile up on the mountains. Snowboard season just around the corner. Looking ahead into the weekend things are looking good with clear blue sky's forecast highs around 15 degrees and some clean small east swell due to hit with light of shore winds in Chiba. Enjoy The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Thursday 28th November 2013- Good morning to one and all getting straight into it then, the winds is back and it is strong and from the south making a mess of most breaks to be honest it is also driving swell with it meaning those breaks that have an off shore in a south wind dont really have to much swell either. Chikura and Taito as well as Seaside Kamogawa are the 3 classic Chiba ones. Ibaraki also really is very small with wonky waves. The air temps have dipped down yet again and last night was cold Brrrrrr. The one place that is still super fun as you will see from the pictures above is Okinawa and our good friend Danny at Happy Surfing is busy as usual with some great waves rolling into the island breaks. Have a great day whatever you get up to. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Wednesday 27th November 2013- Well what a fantastic day we have out there yest again folks beautiful blue sky and the temps up in the high teens, we also have some nice little swell left over from yesterday but now it is super clean, only really in the 2-4ft range and very very mellow but very very fun. Yesterday afternoon before the sun went down there was some amazing surf Typhoon Quality in fact at some of the Chiba breaks and those who scored talked it up a storm. Back to today though folks and as i said before fun surf , so get out there and enjoy it. The mountains are looking like they will get a dusting of snow tonight which will make many happy as a lot of the runs are due to open this weekend. Long range forecast is showing small but clean surf and fine weather for the next week. Tuesday 26th November 2013- Morning to one and all and today is a complete opposite to yesterday, we had a very stong storm roll through town last night dumping a lot of rain and with strong winds as well. This has left us with a morning of large waves although at the time of writing not so clean either. Period is around 8 seconds meaning there are a lot of waves breaking. This should clean up as the day starts to roll on and we could be left with a classic afternoon of clean surfing as long as the winds play nice. The weather is now back to its warm and sunny state which is great to see. Sunset Beach is about to get under way so lots of on-line action as well. Basically its going to be a cracker. Have a great day if your able to get out to the coast. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Monday 25th November 2013- Back in the office again folks this morning after a great weekend out at Warrior Dash Japan. We have to say there was not much going on in the wave department this weekend basically flat at most breaks. This morning there is a big change in the weather with the cloud and rain rolling back in. Still not much in the way of surf either unfortunately. But that is due to change again tomorrow with a nice strong low due to roll in from the Japan sea side of the country. Autumn is actually famous for great waves on the Nihon-kie side of the country due to the change in the seasons. Although that window also looks to be closing as from Wednesday on-wards it looks like snow is going to start falling in the mountains big time. Lastly today a huge Congratulations to Michel Bourez for winning the Reef Hawaiian Pro at Haleiwa this morning. The whole SIJ team will be there enjoying the day. Friday 22nd November 2013- Well folks this morning is yet again fine and dandy Blue Sky and brisk small surf almost everywhere with the only real change out there in Ibaraki where it is now very small due to the north swell finally dissipating. Chiba , Kanagawa and Izu though still have some swell coming in around 1-2ft in Size winds are very light so the ocean is clean. It will be a fun day out there for sure. Looking ahead though into the weekend things are going to remain very small so as it's our good friends major event we wanted to give him a plug. For those that do not know Warrior Dash the Obstacle race from America has been here all year and this will be the final event of the 2013 season out at Sagamiko Pleasure Forest. Grab your tickets online or at the gate and come and join the fun , it will be an amzaing day for sure. INFORMATION HERE. The whole SIJ team will be there enjoying the day. Thursday 21st November 2013- This morning folks its all about that south swell that we still have rolling into the coastline, any south facing beach is getting it , its a bit messy with a medium wave period meaning there is going to be a bit of paddling going on but it is a clear blue sky which makes us happy. Ibaraki is still really the best coastline to be out at today with solid super clean sets in the head high range being fanned with light off-shore winds. The 10 day radar is showing things will get very small as the huge lows in the Pacific finally calm down. Okinawa still has some great waves going on and we did a new upload of pictures today from our good friend Danny down at Happy Surfing. Warrior Dash this weekend folks as well full report tomorrow on that . Its all go go go as we move into the final part of November, WOW where has the year gone. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all theLIVE action right here.

Wednesday 20th November 2013- Morning folks, well we have much of the same again out there today a clear blue sky day and lots of size in the wave department. Down south it's windy though so Kanagawa is blown out, moving into Chiba the further north you go the better it gets and then as we turn the corner into Ibaraki everything goes off shore and cleans up to perfection sets at time of writing at Oari were pushing 1.5 times overhead. The secret Gems of Ibaraki will be of fire today places such as Kujigawa etc. It will be cold but still very much surf-able , the real cold of the winter has not actually kicked in yet that will arrive sometime in January. Well if your out and about today have a great day it really is beautiful much better than sitting around in an office for sure. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Tuesday 19th November 2013- Clear blue sky yet again folks out there on the Pacific coast line and we still have a ocean with a lot going on in it. We still have some strong winds from the south which is making many breaks funky and junky such as Kanagawa but then as you move up into Chiba it starts to die down a bit and the swell is being allowed to re-group somewhat. Right up the top in Ioka etc things are looking big and semi ride-able and then as you turn the corner into Ibaraki it clean up even more. The only problem is that we have a large mix of swells so the wave frequency is high meaning there is going to be a lot of duck diving going on. Anyhow it's better than a flat day for sure. Get out there and have some fun if you can. This weekend is the 3rd Warrior Dash JapanEvent we can highly recommend going to it and having some fun. More on that tomorrow. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Monday 18th November 2013- Good Monday morning to one and all, after what can only be described as yet another amazing weekend of pumping surf here in the land of the rising sun. Autumn conditions are in full swing with solid N/NE swell rolling in from the huge storms out in the Pacific ocean. The weekend was a mix of 6ft plus surf clean with off shore winds and perfect waves at Kamogawa , then big Hebera with waves breaking 150m out the back on the left hand point almost Bombora style take offs. Today we will see the swell pick up again after the small back off yesterday afternoon but we will also see those winds pick up as well from the south. They will be S /SW down south so perfect for most breaks in Chiba. Ibaraki is super solid and the breaks of Kujigawa and Toda and working well according to local reports. For those lucky enough to have the day off get out there and enjoy it. Weather will be fine again as well. Happy Autum Surfing In Japan. Friday 15th November 2013- Well folks its back to Cold /Grey and yes rain on it's way again, Brrrr . Wave wise as well things not looking to good at all with onshore winds at most breaks early on this morning making for junk conditions, Kanagawa though is basically flat like a lake with almost no waves breaking. This is all going to change though as we see a pulse of long distance swell arrive late tonight 14's period and direct from the E to NNE this coupled with light off shore winds which again will kick in later today means the weekend is looking really really good. Until then best advise we have for you is kick back and watch the Hawaiian Pro from Haleiwa, at time of writing Clash of the ledgends are in the water, Sunny Garcia chomping to win the purse. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Thursday 14th November 2013- Good morning folks yet again on a stunner, perfect sunrise into blue bird sky's this morning cold start with steam pouring from the ocean as the heat from the summer is sucked away by the cold of the winter. Wave wise we are looking at the next 36hrs being small before a solid swell is going to move in for the weekend. So the next couple of days is going to be perfect for SUPing or learning how to surf. But for those folks who charge there will be a few paddle battles and peak wars going down at any where there is a breaking wave. Watching the triple crown will be good as Hawaii will get a solid swell today as well should start mid afternoon Japan time ,links below. Pictures coming in of mates snowboarding yesterday in some great early conditions very jealous about that , wont be long until im up there as well. Have a great day what ever you get up too. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Wednesday 13th November 2013- One more super clear morning out here folks but that coupled with the clear night and lack of wind has allowed the super cold air mass to move in from the Japan Sea Side and is meaning it is cold out there , the coldest this year thus far. Certain parts of Hokkaido had 59cm of snow yesterday and they are expecting a further 40+ today that's over 1m in 48hrs . The season is going to get of too a cracking start. Many folks have already dug out there snowboards and trekked the local hills to grab some of the first lines of the season. Most mountains are looking to open by the end of this month. Back to today and the surf things will remain small but clean along the pacific side with the average size being around 1-2ft look to be out towards the low tide to increase opportunity As we move towards the weekend there is a small chance of a fast moving low pressure system to come across the country and send us some northerly swells. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way this week check out all the LIVE action right here.

Monday 11th November 2013- Good morning to one and all out there on this slightly grey and brisk morning. The temps are due to drop a lot today with a huge cold air mass coming in from the Japan sea side of the country. It will also bring the first real big snow to the tops of the mountains which will make a lot of folks happy. Surf wise though we are kicking the week of with great surf. Kanagawa and Izu are super clean right now with overhead waves breaking on many of the breaks. Shizuoka is on fire with some of the best surf all year. The winds are light and off shore the swell is a nice 10 second period and the water still warm. What more can we ask for. We have changed the picture layout as many folks have been asking us to post more Okinawa pictures, our good friend Danny from down there is sending us daily pics when he can and we will post for your as and when we can. Get out there and enjoy the day folks it's a classic Autumn surf day here in EPIC Japan. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is worth a watch. http://vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vtcs13/news-article/vans-presents-the-hic-pro

Friday 8th November 2013- Friday felling again folks and there is good news! The sun is shining again and the surf is up, North Chiba and Ibaraki are both pumping even on the higher tide this morning. The break of Ioka has set waves in the head high range and clean with little to no wind. Ibaraki is also looking good with clean lines rolling in and nice off shore winds this swell should stay around all day so as the tide starts to drop it could get really really good in places. The weekend is looking like a real mixed bag as the weather will be turning for the worse yet again. But the swell may hang around any how get out there today and enjoy it if you can. But at the same time spare a small thought for the people of the Philippians who are about to get hit by the 30th Typhoon of the season and one of the biggest of the year. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is worth a watch. http://vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vtcs13/news-article/vans-presents-the-hic-pro

Thursday 7th November 2013- Morning folks and we are back to the grey sky's and also some cold rain again today! Brrr, the weather really is up and down of late a real surprise for this time of year. Wave wise today this morning we have some pretty big tides , High around 7.30 at 1.70 meters is making most breaks really fat. This coupled with the lack of swell means its hard to find a good wave today to be honest. This will change later in the day as the tide drops out. Head for the shallow breaks up north is our advice as this will increase your chance of getting a few good little rides. Long range forecast is looking average as well so as we have said all wee maybe a good weekend to just head out to see the Autumn colours before the snow sets in followed by the long winter. Have fun if your out and about today. If not The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is worth a watch. http://vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vtcs13/news-article/vans-presents-the-hic-pro

Wednesday 6th November 2013- Good morning to one and all today folks, Wave wise today things are looking very very small yet again with only the odd 1ft - 2ft wave breaking anywhere within the SIJ area , it is however a perfect day to learn how to surf or get out there on a SUP and check out a few spots that are hidden around the corner of the odd bay or two. The weather is spectacular with clear sunny sky's and the temps will get up into the low 20's. We can also recommend if you have the day visiting the mountains to see the Autum Colours that are in full swing right now. We only have about 5 weeks until the first real snow will turn up then it will be full on Snowboard season for 4 months solid. Get out there and enjoy the outdoors today folks it going to be a stunner. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way soon but the HIC Pro is on right now , this determines the extras that can get in for the event. Well worth a watch.http://vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vtcs13/news-article/vans-presents-the-hic-pro

Tuesday 4th November 2013- Well one more of Japan's famous 3 days weekends is a wrap and in the bag. It was a real mix of things with Saturday and Monday very Wet and Cold along the pacific coast line. But Sunday being really nice and warm and Sunny at times. Wave wise things were small with a mix of short period swells from all directions. Hebera Beach and Ioka were working the best as Komgawa Maruki had a huge JSPA event all weekend. Back to o today though and things are back to Sunny and warm with clear sky's especially over Tokyo Swell is still small though with Ioka and Ibaraki looking the best. We have Typhoon 30 charging towards the Philippians , but it does not look like it will get up to Japan which is a shame , there is still some hope for one last Typhoon before the end off the season. Autum colour are in full swing with the trees looking magnificent, well worth a trip to the mountains on one of these flat days. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way soon but the HIC Pro is on right now , this determines the extras that can get in for the event. Well worth a watch.http://vanstriplecrownofsurfing.com/vtcs13/news-article/vans-presents-the-hic-

Friday 1st November 2013- Good morning to one and all and welcome to November, wow can you belive its only 7 weeks till Christmas ! Where has the year gone the last few months have flown by. Well this morning we are starting the month of with a stunner of a day weather wise perfect blue sky and warm outside too low 20's. Wave wise you will have to head north to get the best of the conditions really Ibaraki has some nice sholder high conditions as does Ioka wiith little to no wind blowing as well. Down south though things are looking pretty small with only the odd calf to knee high wave breaking. We also see a 3 day weeknd start from tomorrow so expect the roads to be busy, the mountains are in full Autum Colours as we speak so heading up there is well worth it but remember traffic will be bad. Looking ahead there is a small chance Typhoon 30 may produce some south swells some time next week so keep your eyes peeled. The Triple Crown Series in Hawaii is going to get under way soon but the HIC Pro is on right now , this determines the extras that can get in for the event.
