Friday 28th February 2014 - After Storm Magic happening out there this morning folks down there in Kanagawa the beach breaks of Kugunema and Osaki as well as the river mouth of Bunyu are on fire this morning well over head and with a clean off shore wind. WOW!! as you move into Chiba things are still big but rather messy but that should clean up as the day goes on. Ibaraki is not getting this swell at all. Get out there as soon as possible is our call its that good, the weekend things will back off a little bit but there will still be a lot of swell around so dont worry to much if you can not get out there today. In other news the Pacific is starting to show a small typhoon forming and it is possible that it will turn into a hyper storm and push some amazing swell at us late next week but more on that after we get this weekend out of the way. Wax up get out there and enjoy the weekend folks. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Thursday 27th February 2014 - Grey and Grizzley is the call today folks really feels a lot more like Europe today than it does Japan. We have some warm winds starting to blow which is a sign of spring on it's way but it is also bringing rain with it. Basically then surf wise today we have a Junk Condition Situation at most breaks meaning the seas are choppy with no real clean waves. When its still the middle of winter as well these 2 things together mean there is no real point heading out which by a look of the webcams is the same thought most surfers are having. We are rounding out February here and we will soon be into March where there is only one guarantee and that is Spring will be on it's way and fast. Wednesday 26th February 2014 - Morning folks, Midweek madness then as most of the surf shop owners make there mid week migration out to the beach for their weekly fix of surf. They have some super fun conditions on offer though which is great Chiba after the great day they had yesterday is still looking really good with waves from north down to central areas in the waist to occasional chest size. There is little to no wind out there as well meaning glass conditions all round. Kanagawa and Izu area as well as north Ibaraki still very small but the good news is that there is a lot of movement out there in the Pacific ocean and we should be in for waves everyday now right through into next weekend as well with the possibility of some super long period almost Typhoon conditions late next week. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Tuesday 25th February 2014 - We have swell folks and its solid out there in Chiba some really nice clean lines rolling in over head surf with a perfect off shore wind as well. At time of writing Hebera was breaking way out the back and throwing rides all the way into the beach, Kamogawa also looking really nice with its perfect clear blue water. Up north similar Kanagawa and Ibaraki not many waves at all this really is a focused little east swell that is hitting us which means it may not last long either . Advice get out there right now and kill it. In other news we are putting a post on our Facebook page that shows the long range forecast out there at 180hrs with a giant round ball forming off the coast of the Philippians , could be a Typhoon that will head our way?? What is going on.Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . CLICK HERE for some amazing photos from our photographer friends.Enjoy Your Day.

Monday 24th February 2014 - Well it's Monday Morning again and the weekend is behind us and whats is there to say apart from WE GOT WAVES! yes for those who follow our live reports on Facebook you will know there was some pretty good surf over the past few days , Hebera and much of Chiba was super good and fun. I myself grabbed some really nice SUP sessions with running clean waves on the main peak at Hebera both on Saturday and Sunday. Stoked! . Back to today though and things have backed off some what and are again down into the 1-ft range and the cloud has rolled back in. Later this week things should start to warm up again before they turn 180 and get really cold again for this weekend. With the charts also showing some new wave action out there in the Pacific , all in all it should be a fun and interesting week here in the land of the rising sun. Friday 21st February 2014 - Finally Friday Folks which means it's almost the weekend which is a seriously good thing if you are a weekend warrior , but lets kick off with today's conditions which just happen to be what the weekend is going to be like as well. Firstly nice light variable winds at most places and swell wise we have a nice small 1m-1.2m N/NE swell which is creating some very mellow long board style conditions, in a nut shell looks flat but from time to time you get a nice solid chest high peeler that breaks perfectly over the sand bar or reef. The sun is coming out as will it this weekend and the high's are going to get up to double digits and it will feel warmer if your in the direct sunlight. Thursday 20th February 2014 - Morning folks, well the good news today is that we are no longer going to get the snow that was expected. Instead we are in for a very dry clear spell right through the weekend as well. There is also good news on the swell front as well as we are now expecting a nice little 1m-1.5m NE swell to arrive as well and hang around through the weekends as well. Which i know will make some people very very happy. Today though things are still pretty small everywhere with Ibaraki looking the best but remember it's bullet cold up there compared to anywhere else. Wednesday 19th February 2014 - Ground hog day folks , very small with little to no wind and grey sky as well as being COLD !! today is one of those days where we only could see a total of 2 folks out in the water at time of writing. We are effectively in deep dark winter here in Japan. There is still a lot of chaos on the roads as well with many of the mountain roads still closed due to the heavy snow of the past week or two. Things don't look great either for the next 2 days as well with Snow forecast for Thursday and Friday across much of the country. Wave wise things look pretty small as well right through into the weekend as well but the fishing will be good for sure. Have a great day and make sure you check out our FaceBook page . Tuesday 18th February 2014 - Well straight into it here today folks, things have got a lot smaller today. Kanagawa is basically Flat again with only a ripple or two rolling into the bay, then moving round into Chiba things only get a little better with the odd knee bitter coming through and then Ibaraki very much the same. It is also very cold and a little bit grey as well. Pick of the spots is Hebera beach at 6.30am 5 guys out catching some nice long board style waves.

In other news Josh Lacar from Okinawa came onboard with us earlier this week and we will start to post his pictures onto our Facebook time line on a regular basis, his work is fantastic and we are very proud to be working with him. Make sure you check out our page . CLICK HERE . Enjoy Your Day.

Monday 17th February 2014 - Good morning to one and all, we are back from our UK trip and the reports will be daily again from here on out. Its a stunner of a clear blue sky day out there today but it is also cold, we still have a lot of snow on the ground in many places. But that is not stopping the locals from getting in the water. The weekend was a mixed bag with huge surf Saturday and then super fun clean conditions Sunday. For many though the roads were the issue, many toll roads have been closed and some local roads are impassable. The mountain roads are a nightmare with many local community's cut of due to huge snow drifts etc. Anyway back to the surf this morning the top half of Chiba and bottom half of Ibaraki are looking really nice with some classic conditions Waist to chest high little to no wind and not many in the water a great day to be surfing. Get out there and enjoy it if you can.

Wednesday 5th February 2014 - Yes folks we had our first snow of the year here in Tokyo yesterday meaning we are in the Coldest month of the year February, Brrrr water temps are as low as they go really and its 5mm rubber if your out in the water for at least the next 8 to 10 weeks. The sun is back with us though which is nice as is the calm seas , there are some clean sets coming through but it is still very small apart from the open coast line of the northern part of Chiba. Things are set to pick up some what later on in the week so fingers crossed there. Good news one of team SIJ are off to the UK and Wales to catch up with good friends and have a surf in the Atlantic swells , will be interesting to see where is colder there or here. 4/6ft clean is predicted for next week so to say we are frothing is an understatement. Volcom Pipe line Pro has got underway again watch it LIVE here- some really clean conditions with some magical sets coming through.

Tuesday 4th February 2014 - Well folks we dont say this to often but it is a miserable day out there today we have grey sky and cold wind and many places even have drizzle it really is winter, Brrrrrr . The wind is also hard on shore at most breaks making a complete mess of any swell that is trying to reach our shores. It has to be said really a stay at home day and watch check out all the various action on the internet or catch up on you taxes which are going to be due pretty soon. We do have a very big storm on it's way though and heading into this weekend things are starting to look very very good but mroore on that as the week goes on. Volcom Pipe line Pro has got underway again watch it LIVE here- some really clean conditions with some magical sets coming through.

Monday 3rd February 2014 - Good morning folks well we have a Foggy start to the day here due to the fact things have been so warm the last few days and of course the water temps getting down to as low as they go here in Japan. Good news though is that Kanagawa is pumping this morning a solid south swell has marched in over night and the beach breaks of Kugunema and river mouth at Bunyu is well over head and perfect off shore Stunning! Moving round into Chiba things are a little messy but that may clear up as the day goes on. Ibaraki still small. Its also Super Bowl monday and a lot of party's going on around town with beer and breakfast on the menu. Should be a fun sports day all round then. Volcom Pipe line Pro has got underway with the first round of 96 watch itLIVE here- and dont forget Super Bowl this weekend as well. Enjoy!!
